About me
Hello! I'm Dawn, a mum of 3 and an Educational Therapist in sunny Singapore. I've spent the last decade working with children and teenagers with learning difficulties at the preschool, primary and secondary levels. I love doing intervention work and it has been such a rewarding, yet humbling journey. It has been 10 years and I'm still constantly learning new ways to help my students discover their strengths and develop coping strategies to help them navigate our demanding education system. I am trained in the Lindamood-Bell Programmes and in Dyslexia and Literacy Teaching by the DAS Academy. I believe that every child has the capacity to learn, and value the importance of parental involvement in a child's learning process.
Why the name 'Count Me Wordy'?
I first started Count Me Wordy on IG to support and encourage friends who were struggling with both home-based learning and working at the same time. It was around then that I also noticed my own children's growing interest in doing literacy and numeracy tasks.
As I specialize in numeracy and literacy intervention, I wanted a name to incorporate aspects of both, hence "count" and "wordy". The name is also a play on the phrase 'count me worthy', because it is my firm belief that every child is worthwhile teaching and has the capacity to learn and experience success.

One thing led to another, I found myself creating and putting together learning materials that I have found useful, which I hope will support parents and educators who wish to reinforce their child's learning.

I have always recognized parents as important partners in their child's learning process and I hope my sharing and Count Me Wordy's materials can provide parents with the knowledge and confidence in teaching their children literacy and numeracy-related concepts.
